COVID-19 Testing Options

Hoquiam School District

Hoquiam School District offers Covid 19 testing for students, staff as well as community members needing to get tested.

Under the Health Departments Test to Stay and Learn to Return programs our staff have been granted the opportunity to administer rapid antigen testing in our schools.  If you were/are a close contact or symptomatic and would like to be3 tested you can plan to walk into our High School Lower Admin Building and register with PMG and get a test.  Results are available in about 15 minutes.

Students can also get tested daily at HMS in the choir room in order to attend school if they are a close contact identified by the school.  The building principal/designee will provide a letter with this option and the other requirements to participate in this modified quarantine.

Finally, due to high community transmission being experienced our athletes, coaches, and volunteers with athletics participate in 3 times a week screening in order to participate safely.  

Our goal with offering testing at school is to ensure staff and student health and safety as well as to limit the amount of time students miss school due to COVID.   Any questions concerning covid and quarantine  can be directed to you child's principal or our district COVID-19 Coordinator Jason Ihde @ 360-538-8200 or jihde@hoquiam.net

COVID-19 Testing Schedule Options 2021-22 (Updated 1.7.22)

Diagnostic / Community-Based Testing

Available for all students, staff, families and community members seeking a COVID-19 test.

  • Asymptomatic/Symptomatic

  • Antigen tests available w/ results with in 10-minutes

  • Positive results can be confirmed with PCR testing www.curative.com is a community partner with regular testing at Health Department in Aberdeen from 7am- 1pm or when testing supply is exhausted for the day.  Use the link above to schedule an appointment or try driving up.

Athletics / Extra-Curricular

In accordance with WIAA guidance, student athletes in high contact, indoor sports, will participate in screening tests throughout their season.  In accordance with WA DOH guidance as of 12/17/21  all athletes, coaches, volunteers and any other athletic related staff regardless of vaccination status are required to test 3x’s weekly.  PMG is our support partner responsible for testing.  The AD will ensure compliance with testing for eligibility. 

  • Screening three times per week (Mon/Tues/Friday) are required through PMG.

  • Additional screening on contest days or for missed required testing will be conducted by AD/Coaches

  • Antigen tests w/ results in 15 minutes

Test to Stay & Modified Quarantine 

Students identified as a close contact may come to school during their modified quarantine (7 days) if:

  • Test negative at least two times in the 7 day modified quarantine, AND,

  • Do not have symptoms

  • Continue to wear a mask

  • Antigen tests w/ results in 15 minutes
